At the base of Baltimore’s World Trade Center, located in the fun-filled Inner Harbor, there is a sober reminder of another World Trade Center. Three twisted 22-foot long steel beams from a part of the 94th to 96th floors of the north tower of New York City’s World Trade Center sit on a slab of marble which bears the names and birthdays of the 68 Marylanders who died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Damaged limestone pieces from the Pentagon and a granite block honoring Passengers of Flight 93 are nearby. These elements combine to form
Baltimore’s 9/11 Memorial, while names of 9/11 victims are etched into the windows of the Baltimore tower’s
Top of the World Observation Level.
