Cherubs at Druid Hill Park Gateway

Located near the mostly forgotten Madison Avenue “gateway” to Druid Hill Park, close to the city Recreation and Parks building, this relief panel was saved from a Victorian post office building at Calvert and Fayette Streets which was demolished in 1930 in favor of the larger post office and courthouse that was built in its place and exists today. This panel of cherubs, one of 20 panels that once decorated the older building, was placed here in 1933.
