Living inside city limits, it’s easy to forget Maryland’s farms, fields and mountains. However, the arrival of autumn is a good reason to take a day trip to the western part of the state, where blue mountains, fall foliage and pumpkin patches can be found. Frederick County’s Glade Link Farms, seen here, is a small, family-owned business that offers pick-your-own fruits and vegetables. In addition to pumpkins, they have broccoli, turnips, cabbage, beets, kale and much more. In the spring and summer, strawberries and blueberries grow there too, ready to pick. As they say, "You can’t get fruits and vegetables any fresher!"
