This urban “forest” in Govans may be small, but it represents a large community effort. Part of the Baltimore Green Space mission to connect neighborhoods and their residents to information about their urban forests, the Govans Urban Forest project reclaimed an overgrown vacant space in between a CVS and church on York Road, with the help of Loyola University Maryland and Friends School students and other individuals, as well as grants from organizations like the Parks and People Foundation and Maryland Environmental Trust. The project is managed by the York Road Partnership.
