Dating back to the 1800s, Prospect Hill Cemetery has a long history, and well worth a visit if you’re in Towson. It is a hidden oasis of grass, trees, winding paths and memorials to some noted names from Baltimore County. Those buried here range from some important names in Towson heritage, such as Captain Thomas Ridgely, Dr. Grafton Marsh Bosley, Dr. James Jarrett, to a few who found fame in sports and entertainment, like Baltimore Colts player and Gino’s restaurant co-founder Joe Campanella, as well as Harris Glenn Milstead, better known as the infamous transvestite “Divine” in John Waters movies. (Milstead’s grave is seen here.)
