Baltimore City Lifts Mask Mandate

Baltimore City lifted its mask mandate today, July 1, in alignment with the State of Maryland. Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Howard, Harford, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties also followed the state’s lead in lifting mask requirements.

Masks won’t be mandated by the state in any settings, including schools, camps and child care facilities. But local school districts, restaurants, businesses and workplaces may continue to require them.

A federal order requiring that people wear masks on all U.S. public transit systems is still in place.

Mayor Brandon Scott and Health Commissioner Dr. Letitia Dzirasa made the announcement on June 16th.
