For 33 years, LatinoFest in Patterson Park has celebrated Hispanic culture, including food, art, music and dance. The event was first organized by the late Jose O. Ruiz, the city's first Hispanic Liaison to Mayor Schaeffer and the organizer of the first Mayor’s Advisory Committee on Hispanic Affairs.
The annual event also raises funds for Education-Based Latino Outreach (EBLO), an organization founded by Ruiz that provides educational and cultural programs to children, youth and adults in the Hispanic community.
