Rebuilding Marine Habitats

Near the National Aquarium at the Inner Harbor, there are sections of greenery that represent more than just landscaping. These special urban patches, along with a floating wetland, are living exhibits – examples of important work being performed by Aquarium staff and volunteers throughout the Chesapeake Bay watershed. Thousands of acres of wetlands throughout the Bay have been helped over the years. Debris has been cleared, and native trees, gardens and wetland grasses have been planted, improving habitats for both animals and people.
