Black Lives Matter in Baltimore

Following the death of George Floyd under the knee of a policeman in Minneapolis in May 2020, and the demonstrations that followed nationwide, many in Baltimore expressed support, even when the downtown businesses boarded windows to prepare for potential unrest... The unrest and violence seen elsewhere around the country never happened here. (We had seen enough of that in 2015, following the death of our own Freddie Gray while in the custody of police.) Instead, Baltimoreans from every background expressed their feelings in mostly peaceful demonstrations, as well as the many signs and banners, many of which can still be seen today.

Above, one of the handmade posters from a display at Friends School.
Below, an updated slideshow of many other signs and banners, from past and present.
